college update

I got letters back from two of the colleges I applied to for early decision and I got accepted into WPI and UMBC.

snow update

it snowed a little more last night (as seen above), but it rained this morning

My friends and I had our 3rd annual(ish) "non-denominational" party last night...

We got a tree yesterday as well, so with the snow and a tree (and a gingerbread house) its starting to feel a little bit more like the holidays

today we have a snow day even though it only started snowing around 10 am.
they canceled school at 5:30 this morning.
they are predicting 4-6 inches...maybe we'll have a white christmas this year?

Andelle's College Update

I have no results from the 4 schools I applied to yet, probably will receive notice on Monday.
I got a merit scholarship offer for 60k over 4 years from Mary Baldwin. This is an all woman's college in Virginia and not very known for their math and science programs. I probably will not be applying.

Got second place at the its academic competition which won $500 dollars for my school. Math team competition 2 is at Westlake on Monday so wish me luck on that.

Woot!

I'm going to be doing some application-filling of my own! Yesterday all the eighth graders walked over to the high school to learn about their special programs. They gave us a big packet and said we could apply to up to three programs. The only program that really caught my attention was biotechnology. I showed my parents the packet, telling them I want to apply to biotech and they went all "You don't like science!" on me. If I don't get in, oh well!, at least I got some experiance with applications.

Maybe we should actually talk about college for once since that is the name of this blog.
I got into Rutgers. Yay, safety school!
